Reflexive report -CAI XIAOHUA
My first edit was in April 2020, then I started trying to edit more entries, then I started creating entries and even translating English Wikipedia into Chinese Wikipedia.Wikipedia is one of my most visited sites. I visit Wikipedia every day to see what I care about, write about unfinished editing plans, and see little by little perfection. In the last three years of wiki editing, I've learned a lot: first of all, I can understand various fields of knowledge.By writing on Wikipedia, I have expanded my knowledge and corrected many misconceptions.Second, I became familiar with the encyclopedia model. Each type of entry has its own pattern, and the brain has a basic framework for creating new entries over time. These patterns are not limited to Wikipedia, but are also useful for other writing platforms. Wikipedia is a neutral encyclopedia, and a neutral view is one of Wikipedia's five pillars and one of its three core approaches to content. Most of its content is written in a neutral manner, so Wikipedia's knowledge may be different from what we normally know.In editing, I have to consult a lot of information to judge the reliability of the information and to make a choice in organizing the language. This kind of neutral thinking helps me see things and keeps my mind cool. Wikipedia takes copyright seriously, infringing content won't last long, so use it carefully and know what is free copyright and what is reasonable to use, otherwise the uploaded resources will be deleted.I also understand the meaning of CC, BY, NC, ND, SA. I love Wikipedia's free-editing culture and community attributes.Wikipedia provides users with sufficient privileges to participate in the site's operations and to form a community-based management site. Each language Wikipedia has its own community, and all communities form a larger community that can participate in determining the policies and board membership of the Wikimedia Foundation.Consensus discussions and opinion polls are generally used to manage websites within the community.Users who are more trusted within a certain range of the community may also be granted administrator or higher privileges at their own discretion.Autonomous management methods can make users feel a strong sense of belonging, which in turn motivates users to participate in contributions. In editing Wikipedia, I met a number of editors who might be administrators, inspectors, long-time Wikipedia users, newly registered users, or a string of IP addresses. They all contribute more or less to Wikipedia in a particular area, and I have a lot to gain from interacting with them.
Completing each edit was satisfying and fun for me. I enjoy editing Wikipedia, so I will continue to edit Wikipedia. As a Wikipedia editor, I want more people to participate in Wikipedia. I hope more people will benefit from Wikipedia!
