Reading15(Minji Jeong)

I was able to learn a lot while editing Wikipedia this semester. First and foremost is collaboration and teamwork. Wikipedia is a collaborative platform where many users participate in editing and improving articles. By editing Wikipedia, I was able to learn how to collaborate and work together with other users, share opinions, and engage in collaborative editing. Through experiences such as coordinating opinions with others, discussing edits, and receiving feedback, I acquired effective collaboration and communication skills.

Next, I learned about document writing and editing. Document writing and editing are at the core of Wikipedia. By contributing to Wikipedia, I learned effective document writing techniques and editing practices. Through tasks like structuring documents, applying formatting, creating links, and managing references, I learned how to organize information systematically and present it in a way that is easy for users to read and understand.

Lastly, I gained knowledge about reliability and source management. Wikipedia places importance on providing reliable information by emphasizing the use of proper sources. While editing articles, I learned how to verify the credibility of information and provide proper references. I learned how to identify trustworthy sources, apply citation formats, and validate reference materials, enabling me to produce reliable content.

Wikipedia serves as a vast repository of knowledge, encompassing information on a wide range of topics from around the world. Therefore, contributing to Wikipedia by editing and adding new information can be a highly engaging and intellectually stimulating process of expanding knowledge and exploration. Additionally, collaborating with other users and exchanging opinions can lead to discovering new insights, making the experience challenging and rewarding.
