Editing Wikipedia is a very rewarding task and I have learned a lot from it.

Research skills: Editing Wikipedia requires in-depth research and understanding of the topics covered. Learn to locate reliable sources, collect and organize information, assess the accuracy and reliability of information, and translate it into accurate, concise Wikipedia articles.

Editing Wikipedia also requires a clear, concise, and neutral writing style. How to organize information and use appropriate language and format is a must for entering a wiki. Also Wikipedia is a collaborative platform where I became part of the wiki community and could work with other volunteers to edit and improve articles. I learned to collaborate with others, participate in discussions and debates, and communicate effectively by editing summaries and discussion pages to actively contribute to a common knowledge resource.

Compared to traditional student assignments, editing Wikipedia has a number of differences:

Practical application: Editing Wikipedia is a real, public impact assignment. Your edits will be read by thousands of people and may have an impact on the learning and research of others. In contrast, traditional student assignments are usually just reviewed by teachers or peers.

Open and collaborative: Wikipedia is an open and collaborative platform where anyone can edit and improve articles. In contrast to traditional student assignments that involve only collaboration between individuals or groups, Wikipedia editing involves collaboration and communication with volunteers from around the world.

Continuous improvement: Wikipedia's goal is to continuously improve and refine the knowledge base. My edits may be subject to revision and improvement by other editors, and this open process can lead to continuous improvement of one's own writing and research skills.

Whether editing Wikipedia is more fun is a subjective question, as everyone's definition of "fun" is different. However, many people find editing Wikipedia to be a fun and challenging task because it allows you to delve into topics of interest to you and collaborate with other volunteers to build a large knowledge base. This sense of involvement and useful outcomes for the public can often add to the enjoyment and satisfaction of the task.
