1. SUMMARY
Wikipedia is an example of an open content community, focusing on providing value related to openness. But balancing values such as transparency, integrity, and non-discrimination is a challenge. In addition, even if it is an open-minded community, setting boundaries is an important factor. Indeed, even perfect openness is not comprehensive, and open systems create conditions that demand and threaten openness. As a result, a well-balanced system can persist, and a system that does not can fail. In the Wikipedia community, there are various discussions on these aspects, and there are concerns about how to balance values. As an open content community with these characteristics, Wikipedia is evaluated to meet the conditions.
2. INTERESTING POINT
I think Wikipedia's Openness part is the most interesting. Wikipedia allows anyone to freely write articles on various topics. However, such an open system may rather be a stumbling block to Wikipedia's move in a good direction. Discrimination due to freedom may occur, and accuracy may be reduced due to indiscriminate writing of articles. As mentioned above, openness will be meaningful only when the balance is well balanced.
3. DISCUSSION
So what should I do from the user's point of view if Wikipedia's open system is to be balanced?
