Reading 15. GeonwooLee
I learned quite a lot about Wikipedia during this semester. From Wikipedia's identity, I learned various editing techniques and various functions in Wikipedia. Wikipedia provides information on a variety of topics, and is continuously updated and extended by voluntary contributions from users. Wikipedia operates on a community-based basis, with countless users writing, editing, and translating documents and sharing knowledge around the world. One of the key features of Wikipedia is that users are free to contribute. Anyone can sign up, create documents, or edit existing documents, and share personal knowledge and interests. Of course, in order to maintain reliability and neutrality, Wikipedia has a strict editorial policy and review process. Users strive to improve and expand documents through modification and review by other contributors. In terms of Wikipedia editing technology, I remember writing the article itself, adding photos, reviewing and adding references, and peer reviews. When I first practiced editing techniques, I doubted whether I could help Wikipedia's information and culture. So I tried to edit it in a more objective and good way. I've been thinking about replacing a reference that's either lost or of unknown origin, and I've even posted pictures that don't have copyright issues. The most memorable editing technique is setting up a wiki internal link. Because it felt special because it was the culture of Wiki itself.
The Wikipedia editing task has several differences from the traditional student assignments. The editing task focuses on document creation or modification and requires research and source verification on the subject. Traditional student assignments, on the other hand, often require more in-depth research, analysis, and logical arguments on a given subject. I found Wikipedia editing assignments more interesting than regular student assignments. The Wikipedia editing task was interesting in that it actually gives the pleasure of participating in the process of sharing knowledge and helping others understand, and that individual contributions can be known worldwide and help users. Of course, it was a little burdensome for everyone to be able to check the comments or edits I posted. Still, it was a good experience to get new information in the process. As a result, I was interested in the process of sharing personal knowledge on Wikipedia and collaborating with others to create a global information website. Thank you for this semester.
