-- “What did I learn while editing Wikipedia? How is this assignment different from more traditional student assignments? Is it more fun?”

-Wikipedia is an open content online encyclopedia. For any user, it's easy to find information in Wikipedia within minutes. You can also learn many new things that you have never heard of before. Knowledge is power, and Wikipedia is a powerful source of knowledge. Wikipedia is an academic encyclopedia. It is characterized by openness and authority. All kinds of information are relatively complete, eliminating the need for frequent switching between various websites. Almost every entry has a corresponding source and explanation, which is the embodiment of its authority. When we learn to edit Wikipedia, we have to be strict about the sources and references of the content.

I think of Wikipedia as an online encyclopedia made by people together. In a traditional encyclopedia, you can only be a reader, but on Wikipedia we can be both readers and authors. Any of us can create it, edit it, modify it. Participating in Wikipedia, I feel that we are the authors of Wikipedia, and we can publicize our knowledge to more people. I think this is very meaningful and very proud. Although the right to edit Wikipedia is open, each editor has his or her own responsibilities and obligations. Editors are responsible for the content they edit, ensuring that it is accurate, neutral, and reliable. At the same time, editors need to respect the opinions of others and not maliciously attack or denigrate others. Neutrality is an important principle of Wikipedia since its inception, which requires Wikipedians to try to edit an article from an objective perspective rather than from personal likes and dislikes.

Wikipedia is a collaborative global multilingual encyclopedia project based on Wiki technology, as well as a web encyclopedia in multiple languages. Wikipedia can also be viewed as a free to browse, freely created and edited, multilingual web encyclopedia. I think it's very useful that we learn to edit Wikipedia. It will be helpful to my future study and life. Wikipedia as a global encyclopedia platform, convenient for the world's billions of Internet users, this is a very great cause.

It's true that the assignment of editing Wikipedia is different from the traditional assignment. We can delve into specific areas of interest and communicate with different people to discuss and write together. It's a fun thing to do. I am very happy to participate in the editing of Wikipedia.
