Reading 11 MA YUXUAN

1. Summary:

Wikimedia Commons is a media repository for freely licensed images, sound, video, and other media files. It is a central hub for media resources used in various Wikimedia projects. Users are free to upload and access these media files, ensuring that they can be reused in any context without copyright restrictions. It provides users with a convenient and empowering source of media content.

2. An interesting point:

An interesting aspect of Wikimedia Commons is that not all images in a Wikimedia project are automatically uploaded to Commons. This is because Commons has a stricter licensing policy than some other Wikimedia projects. Due to differences in licensing and fair use policies, some images that are not accepted on Commons may still be acceptable elsewhere. This highlights the importance of understanding and following the specific guidelines and principles of each platform in the Wikimedia ecosystem.

3 Discussion:

One potential point of discussion could be about the importance of sharing knowledge on platforms such as Wikipedia that share reasonable and fair values. How do we ensure that the information we share is accurate, unbiased and respectful of diverse viewpoints? Also, how do we address and resolve potential conflicts or disputes that may arise during the knowledge sharing process?
