Reading 10 - Lee Seoyoon

 1. Summary

The Wikipedia Categorization page provides guidelines and recommendations for categorizing Wikipedia articles. Categories are used to classify articles and help users easily navigate related content. The category guidelines include the importance of maintaining a consistent classification structure, meaningful grouping, limiting overlapping categories, using specific names, and considering the scope and purpose of categories. It also suggests solutions for issues related to article categorization, such as adding subcategories or separate categories when a single document covers multiple topics, and proposes the use of automation tools for category classification and regular reviews to maintain category accuracy. In other words, the Wikipedia category page provides editors with effective methods for categorizing articles, contributing to the overall quality of Wikipedia.

2. Interesting

In general, it is interesting not only to classify articles, but also to create separate categories using templates. In addition, the use of tree structures with images representing upper and lower categories is clearly visualized and helpful to understand.

3. Discussion

How can distinctions be made beyond the provided upper-level and lower-level categories in the document? For example, when creating a category for logos of national institutions (such as flags), among various categories like logo, CI, BI, symbol, and flag, what do you think would be the most appropriate upper-level category?
