Wikipedia hoaxes are the acts of making false edits, misleading information, or malicious damage on Wikipedia. These pranks may include misinformation, false citations, absurd statements, etc., designed to mislead readers or damage the reliability and reputation of Wikipedia. Overall, Wikipedia prank is a harmful behavior, but Wikipedia's communities and mechanisms help to correct these problems and maintain its reliability. As users, we should remain vigilant and actively participate in the quality assurance and improvement of Wikipedia.


2. Interesting point

Here's what we should do about the Wikipedia prank: 1.Harsh Condemnation: Malicious edits and pranks seriously violate Wikipedia's codes and principles and undermine its credibility and reliability as a knowledge base. Such behavior should be severely condemned.

2.Community Governance: Wikipedia has a large community of contributors dedicated to monitoring and fixing mischief. Community members can detect and correct false information and recover to an accurate and reliable state. This mechanism of community governance helps maintain the reliability of Wikipedia.

3.Traceback and correction: When pranks are detected, Wikipedia's community moves quickly to undo fake edits and fix articles. Community members and other readers can learn about the existence of the prank and participate in the repair process by viewing the edit history and discussion page.

4. Be critical: As readers, we should be critical and not rely on a single source of information. When we use Wikipedia, it is best to cross-validate its content and check other reliable sources to confirm the accuracy of the information.


3. Discussion

Norwegian photographer Jonas Bendiksen's "The Book of Veles" fooled the world's top photojournalists with fake images and fake news, and took home the grand prize of the World Press Photo Competition. Even when he bought the pictures and said they were wrong, fellow photographers and celebrities came forward to defend him. Information polluters, no matter what mood they start with, are dumping sewage into the sea. For all the people who need to live in the sea, the effect is minimal, but it persists. You may be deceived at any time by fabricated stories and blinded by empty knowledge.
