 1） Summary

As an open content community, Wikipedia is an important gathering place for knowledge innovation and sharing, and a curator of wisdom. In an open knowledge community, users are content sharers, creators and wisdom providers. Distinguishing and studying the types of users can promote people to play a more active role in the open knowledge community and better promote knowledge sharing, innovation and wisdom generation.

2）Interesting point

Open means giving up part of the copyright to make it available to the public, and the content includes images, sounds, text, multimedia, and all other forms used to express information or knowledge. In general, open content refers to all kinds of content that can be read on the Internet, or any creative work that is published under more liberal copyright regulations, such as articles, books, images, audio and video productions, etc. Without being subject to stricter restrictions, open content works allow any third party to freely copy the information. Some open content works also allow third parties to modify or redistribute the original work without restriction, and Wikipedia is a typical example of this form of open content. Wikipedia is an example of the success of the Wiki technology and collaboration model, demonstrating the feasibility and success of a new form of content creation and collaboration model of open sharing and collaboration. However, there are still many constraints to apply this open content model to other fields. For example, Wikipedia has a low barrier to entry, easy to gather popularity, rich content brings a large number of users to participate, and a large user base makes its content quality guaranteed.

3）Discussion

Wikipedia stands out as an example of a successful open community because many conditions were met to make it successful. So will there be examples of successful open communities like Wikipedia in other fields?
