Wikipedia claims to be a global body of knowledge that can be freely accessed and edited, which means that in addition to the information contained in traditional encyclopedias, Wikipedia can also include non-academic and dynamic events that receive a certain amount of media attention.

3)Discussion point

Wikipedia is a web-based encyclopedia project that emphasizes free content, collaborative editing, and multilingual editions.  Using the Internet and wiki technology as the medium, it has developed into a worldwide collaborative encyclopedia project.  The project, which is co-authored by volunteers around the world, has included more than 30 million entries, with the English-language Wikipedia leading the way with more than 4.5 million entries.  How can we increase Wikipedia editing in languages other than English so that more people can participate in or get help from Wikipedia?

Because Wikipedia is based on the Internet, contributors from different parts of the world may view the same language in different dialects, or be influenced by idioms from different countries to use slightly different language.  These differences may lead to conflicts in the spelling or usage of the entry.
