Wikipedia's goal is to build and maintain an encyclopedia that covers all branches of human knowledge. Hundreds of new articles have been created on the English Wikipedia and more are being expanded every day. DYK aims to achieve the following five goals: 1. to showcase new and improved content and to inform readers of the continuous improvement and expansion of Wikipedia's article library. 2.Highlight the diversity of information on Wikipedia to gain insight into the range of material covered by Wikipedia. 3. Introduce facts about a range of topics that might not otherwise be exposed on the homepage. 4. Acknowledge the work that editors have done to expand and improve Wikipedia, and encourage them to continue their efforts, thereby contributing to the preservation of edits and the continuous improvement of content. 5. Readers are encouraged to edit articles that appear on DYK or start their own articles, thus facilitating the recruitment of new editors.

A smaller-scale version of either featured content or good articles, though selected good articles do appear in the DYK box. Articles must meet the basic criteria set out on this page but do not have to be of very high quality. As DYK's main purpose is to showcase new and improved content, it is not expected that articles appearing on DYK would be considered among the best on Wikipedia. What is the significance of this?

    I think the significance is that DYK's page is mainly to display new articles and improved article content.

    I think the significance is to attract more editors to join Wikipedia and mobilize the enthusiasm of editors.
