1. Summary

The Free Culture Movement is a social and political movement that advocates the freedom to distribute and modify creative works through open-source software, and open access to academic literature, content, and data. The movement believes that access to and sharing of information should be free, collaborative and participatory. The Free Culture Movement has significantly impacted the development of digital technology and the Internet. It spurred the development of open-source software and the creation of collaborative communities, such as Wikipedia and the Open Access movement, which freely shared knowledge and information.

2. Interesting point

The Free art movement is different from the free Culture movement in that artists retain full copyright in their works. Free art is the practice of artists leaving works of art in public places for the public to take and keep. The artwork is usually marked with a statement stating that it is a free art and carries the artist's name or remains anonymous.

3. Discussion

The Free Culture movement can be applied to other areas as well?

Comments

  1. I think it can be applied to other areas though. But considering the issue of copyright, we can't implement free culture in all fields again. For example, the copyright of some books.
