1. Summary
After reading this article, I understand that Remix culture is a term to describe society, which refers to the cultural phenomenon that people recreate and recreate existing cultural works through digital technology in the digital age; Encourage society to combine or edit existing materials to produce new creative works or derivative works.
In general, remix culture allows the works of creators and copyright owners to be improved, changed, integrated or otherwise mixed, regardless of whether the copyright owners allow it or not.
Remix culture allows people to create and communicate more freely and flexibly, while promoting cultural diversity and innovation.
However, remix culture is also controversial. Some people think that remix culture may infringe the copyright and intellectual property rights of original works.
2. Interesting points
Interestingly, when describing that remix has always been a part of human culture, the author cited the idea of Professor Henry Jenkins, an American media scholar: "The story of American art in the 19th century can be told by mixing, matching and integrating folk traditions from different indigenous and immigrant populations."
3. Discussion points
Do you think remix culture should be promoted? Because it may infringe the copyright and intellectual property rights of original works.
I think it can be advocated, which will make the culture more dynamic. But users need to communicate and create under the condition of understanding copyright restrictions.
