Reading 12--LI MINHUI

 1.Summary:

A Wikipedia article mostly starts out as stubs, and it may become more comprehensive and excellent as more volunteers join the editor. This article tells us about the various stages in the formation of Wikipedia articles.

The first is to start with the idea of the content of the article. If there is no article content on this topic in Wikipedia. We can create article pages about anything in Wikipedia. Even if there is content on this topic, we can also create content related to this topic that can make us interested.

If we don't have enough time, we can write down our inspiration in a few sentences. Form a "stub". This keeps our topic alive and allows more volunteers with the same interests to edit here. This short stub article may also form a complete article in the future.

Featured articles are generally what we consider to be the best articles on Wikipedia. Such articles are selected by review. Among the selected article candidates are essays, accuracy, neutrality, and completeness, based on selected article criteria. One of the roles of Featured Articles is to showcase the best work to people who may not know about Wikipedia. This is the best way to recruit new Wikipedians and get donations, both of which help Wikipedia a lot.

Relevant research activities on the topic are required before starting an article. You can search Wikipedia to find relevant material. This creates good links to other related articles later on. Writing a good essay often requires additional research. A good article needs to be verifiable. Reliable sources should at best include books or journal articles. Then start writing the main content of the article. Finally, you can use media content, such as pictures and videos that match the subject content, to assist in completing the article, making the content of the article richer and more useful.

2.Interesting point:

It's often interesting to find that, perhaps on the other side of the globe, some other contributor can check other sources after a while, or suggest a different interpretation. The composition of a commonly agreed interpretation is the most important part of a serious Wikipedia article. Wikipedia has the magic of bringing together volunteers with the same interests from all over the world.

3.Discussion point:

What is the process usually required to complete a good Wikipedia article?
