Reading4 - Lee Seoyoon
1. Summary
According to the GFC book, Wikipedia is not just an encyclopedia, but also a community. In other words, the roots of the well-intentioned community culture are realized through Wikipedia, which has lasted for more than 100 years. With the advent of the Internet, free and open access to information has accelerated, and Wikipedia continues to grow and thrive on this technological foundation. Many voluntary participants are developing through collaboration assuming a neutral perspective and good faith. These rules eliminate inefficient discussions and protect the integrity of the article. Participants are also promoting a culture of cooperation by informing others that they act in good faith. However, despite these rules, there are trolls that interfere with the work, and the author Riggle provides several theories to solve them.
2. Interesting point
The birth and settlement process of Wikipedia is very interesting. Especially in that many derivative projects failed without securing as much position as Wikipedia.
3. Discussion
Do you sympathize with Universal Vision? Then why?
