1 Summary

Wikipedia can be a useful reference tool, but it is important to use it critically and in conjunction with other sources.Wikipedia is a crowd-sourced encyclopedia, which means that anyone can edit and contribute to its articles. While this allows for a wealth of information to be available on a wide range of topics, it also means that the accuracy and reliability of the information can vary greatly depending on the quality of the contributors and editors. To ensure the accuracy of information found on Wikipedia, it is important to evaluate the sources cited within the article and to check those sources against other reputable sources. Additionally, it can be helpful to look at the edit history of the article to see if there have been any controversial changes or disputes over the information presented.

2Interesting point

Wikipedia faces several challenges as an encyclopedia

1. Maintaining accuracy: As a user-generated platform, Wikipedia is vulnerable to inaccurate information added by well-meaning but uninformed contributors or malicious actors trying to spread misinformation.

2. Address bias: Editors may intentionally or unintentionally introduce their own personal biases or agendas, which may lead to unbalanced or distorted views on certain topics.

3. Ensuring completeness: Wikipedia may not cover all topics comprehensively, especially those that are relatively obscure

In general, Wikipedia must balance the benefits of being an open, collaborative platform with the need to maintain the accuracy, integrity, and neutrality of its content.

3Discussion

What needs to be improved at this stage of Wikipedia? How should it be improved?

  2. The accuracy and objectivity of Wikipedia depends on the participation and contributions of editors and readers. If a topic is controversial or ambiguous, Wikipedia encourages discussion and problem solving on the discussion pages to ensure the accuracy and objectivity of articles.

  3. There are cases where you have to write down the source of really common sense information. If you write down the source, of course, the reliability increases, but there is a limit to the source, and I think it should be improved because it will feel like it is simply copying and pasting.
